KING OF THE CASTLE TOURNAMENT
  • Players must lag for the break.
  • The 8-ball must be in the center of the rack.
  • At the bottom of the rack, one corner must consist of a stripe ball on one end and a solid on the other end.
  • 8 on the break is not a winner.  The 8 ball will get spotted and the player will continue to shoot from where the cue ball lies.
  • In the event that the 8 is made on the break and the player scratches on that break, it is a loss of game.
  • It is an open table after the break regardless of how many balls are made in on the break.
  • If the player scratches on the break, it is ball-in-hand behind the line (head-string).  All other times on a scratch, it is ball-in-hand anywhere on the table.
  • You do not need to call your pocket but you must shoot your ball first to be a legal hit.  Example: player 1 has solids and shoots the 1-ball and makes the 6-ball: that is a legal hit.  If player 1 shoots the 11-ball (stripes) and pockets the 6-ball: that is not a legal hit and it is ball-in-hand for the opponent.
  • Player must call the pocket for the 8 ball.  The 8 ball can go 5 rails and as long as it goes in the pocket that the player indicated, it is still a legal hit.
